BEAVERS T20 CHAMPS

Lysterfield Cricket Club defeated a new look Eildon Park by 6 wickets in the annual T20 grand final to claim the Saxon Sports Cup.
The Panthers, at home batted first and posted 9/116 from 20 overs on a slow outfield with opener Ben Morris top scoring with 47 with support coming from David Smyth 24, however one felt the total was under par. Anthony Brolic was best with the ball with 3/9.
The Beavers lost two early wickets with skipper Nathan Walsh coming first wicket down and Brolic Joining him at 2/7. Walsh is an explosive timer of the ball and watching some of the balls clear the boundary onlookers witnessed just what a class player he is.
Eildon Park had no answers with the ball as Walsh guided his team to their first T20 premiership in fine style with an unbeaten 70. Anthony Brolic provided much of the support with 30 to go with his three wickets.
The Beavers will now represent the association in next season’s Regional T20 Challenge hosted by the Ringwood Rams Cricket Club, playing the best T20 clubs from the Ringwood & District and Yarra Valley Cricket Associations.
