The freshly promoted to Norm Reeves Shield, Mountain Gate did not falter when they came up against last season Premier.  The Gators lost 5 wickets in compiling their winning score of 110, with Dewayne Bowden(33), Clint Buckland (31) and Marshall Bunting (30*)all contributing. Johnson Park’s innings closed at 9/108 with only David Devenish making a score of note. Cameron Wheeler (3/28) and Trent Fitzgerald (3/16)

 

Despite the return of Brodie Emmett (40) from Premier club Ringwood and an undefeated 50 from Jason Fraser, Monbulk were pipped at the post by Eildon Park. Nathan Caton-Robinson 3/10 and Cam Cosstick 3/40 closed out the Hawks innings for 125. The Panthers 130 proved enough for victory with runs being shared around, whilst Monbulk leg spinner Chris Coen snared 3/21.  Ferntree Gully took the points over the Basin with a strong performance with the bat. Jayden Bradbury 92*, returning from Richmond, and Patrick Mastertoun 51* shared in an undefeated partnership to take the win. Former Casey/South Melbourne Captain Jake Best’s 73 was not enough for the Bears to seize victory, while New Blues Skipper Ryan Handley took 4/25.

 

A Johnathon Levell century was not enough to deny Knox Gardens the win over Belgrave. The Magpies set a target 4/211 with Doug Oaten (30) supporting Levell. The Falcons score of 4/214 gave them the six points with Shannon Small (62), Josh (56) and Mitchell Gregory (35*) all doing the work with the bat.  The Knoxfield Knights proved too good for the Upwey Tigers. The Knights batting line up was strengthened by the return of former Richmond premiership Opening batsmen Tom Boxall. Trentin Scholfield(32) combined with Boxall(51) as the Knights made their way to 9/181. Despite 45 from Mick Hewitt, the Tigers struggled against the Knights bowling with Scholfield(3/17) and Luke Scanlon 3/26 getting the job done.

 

In DeCoite Shield Upper Ferntree Gully made a strong statement against Knox City, FTG Footballers overcame South Belgrave, Lysterfield bested Rowville, and Aura Vale held on against St Johns Tecoma.
