DUO PICKED FOR VICTORIAN COUNTRY SQUAD
Two local stars have been selected to represent Victoria in the Australian Country Cricket Championships to be held in Mt Gambier in January. 24 year old Lysterfield captain Nathan Walsh and Knoxfield off spinner Zac Wilson 23, were selected after the final trial match at the Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo on Sunday.
Both players have had premier first X1 experience, Walsh (71 games) with Fitzroy-Doncaster & Ringwood, including last season’s premiership with the rams whilst Wilson played 5 matches with Monash Tigers. They have returned to their junior clubs for season 2015/16.
Walsh was a member of the Victorian U/17 team whilst Wilson played for the Victorian Country U/21’s in 2012. We wish them well in Mt Gambier. Ben Boyd from Warrnambool will skipper the team and ironically he is Zac Wilson’s cousin.
