Nathan Caton-Robinson had a good day out, as he took 6/21 for Eildon Park. Upwey were dismissed for a disappointing 100 runs at Eildon Park Reserve. At the close of play the Panthers had secured first innings points at 3/118 with Nathan Hicks 52 not out.
Trentin Scholfield went one better, backing up last week’s century with another 104. Knoxfield were in trouble at 3/7 against Belgrave but were again rescued by Scholfield and Scanlan. The Knights finished the day at 290 with Zac Wilson run out for 97. 23 year old Wilson has been named in the Victorian Country Squad for the Australian country championships in Mt Gambier.
Jake Best has the Bears in front by a nose in their race for a spot in the 4 with Knox Gardens. The Basin was bowled out by the Falcons for 232 with Best contributing 108. Support came from Danny Rundle 40 and Jayden Turcinovic 48, as Shannon Small (4/28) and Scott McInerney (4/44) took the wickets for the Falcons. Knox Gardens will be less than happy finishing the day on 2/30.
In the remaining games Johnson Park appears to be in control of their game against top of the table Ferntree Gully. Ben Stallworthy snapped up 5 wickets for the Sharks as the Blues were dismissed for 121. Johnson Park will resume next week on 3/84.
Monbulk made 235 at Windemere against Mountain Gate with Brodie Emmett top scoring with 55. Brian Martin (44*) and Billie Hicken (32) saw the Hawks set a competitive score, while Marshall Bunting took 4 wickets for the Gators. Mountain Gate is 1/31 in reply.
