The return to the two day format proved to be to Shane Luck's liking as he posted a century for Upper Ferntree Gully. The Kings made 289 against Mountain Gate at HV Jones Reserve with Luck (117), Todd Burley (37), and Jay Colee 35 all amongst the runs. Travis Clarke and Josh Lindner took 3 wickets apiece for the gators. With the runs on the board the Kings are in control of this game.
Monbulk skipper Rick Bean's 86 kept the Hawks on the front foot as Monbulk travelled to Wally Tew Reserve to take on Ferntree Gully. Chris Coen (65) and Uzair Alam (30) made sure that Monbulk posted a competitive total of 261. Ryan Handley took 5 wickets for the Blues. Monbulk will be looking for wicket takers next week if they are to make it two on the trot.
Upwey Tecoma hosted Knox Gardens as both teams chase finals opportunities. the Tigers batted first and set the Falcons a target of 241 for victory. Gannell(51), Spence (33), and Strahan (30*) all contributed whilst Adam Wild took his 23rd wicket for the season. Cameron Wheeler will be instrumental to the outcome of this game next week
Panthers bat George Harrison celebrated his call up to Bendigo Country week with 95 runs as Eildon Park made 259 against ladder leaders Knoxfield. Trent Evans took 3/25 for the Knights. In the final game The Basin were bowled out for 197 by Belgrave. Basin captain Scott Vozzo top scored with 65, while Jake Best made 30 upon his return from the Australian Country Cricket Championship.
In DeCoite Shield Footballers made 9/300 against St. John's Tecoma as Lachlan Storey made his second century of the season. Johnson Park bowled Olinda out for 97 before ending the day at 2/48. South Belgrave are 1/68 chasing Knoxfield's 158 and Lysterfield will need 240 next week against Rowville.
