Ladder leaders Knoxfield travelled up the hill to take on Monbulk and their batsmen made it hard going for the Hawk’s bowlers. Jack Taylor top scored for the Knights with 101 not out, whilst Adith Sundaresh (95) and skipper Tom Boxell (65) both fell with the score on 199 having scored a 141 run partnership. Matt Train (50*) then paired with Taylor to put on an unbroken 157 runs. With only 4 wickets to fall for the day Beau Newman stood tall for the Hawks taking 3/57. The Hawks have found some form with the bat although this will be an uphill battle against The Knights.

Cody Morris hit his second century for the season as Eildon Park lost only 6 wickets in the day against Belgrave. The Panthers completed their 80 overs posting 6/284 with Ryan Hicks (43), George Harrison (37) and Shane Cosstick (30) all amongst the runs. Bowling spoils for Belgrave were light on and the Magpies will be looking to their elder statesmen to lead the way in the run chase.

Upper Ferntree Gully hosted Ferntree Gully in their local derby and the home team finished the day on 8/276. Paul Henry (81) and Shane Luck (59) were the best performed for the Kings with the bat whilst the wickets for the Blues were shared around.

Upwey batted first in their game against The Basin for a total of 243. Steve Gannell (65*),Damian Berenato (51) and Darren Spence( 31) kept the Tigers on track despite an amazing 5 run outs for the innings. The Bears will be hoping that next week their batsmen are as on fire as their fielders were this week.

In a total contrast to the other games, both Mountain Gate and Knox Gardens have been dismissed on day one in their clash at Argyll way. The Gators were dismissed for 81 in 33 overs with Adam Wild taking 6/44 and Zac Flintoff 3/16 for the Falcons while John Rozakis managed 30 with the bat. Knox Gardens were then in trouble at 8/54 before Matt Young 36 and Adam Wild 35 got them to 128 and a first inning lead of 47. Josh Lindner took 5 wickets for Mountain Gate.

In DeCoite Shield Steven (114) and Andrew (113) Devenish launched Johnson Park to 5/316 against South Belgrave, Knoxfield made 8/311 against Olinda and St Johns Tecoma hit 242 off Lysterfield’s attack. In the final game Rowville were dismissed for 163 including 3 run outs against FTG Footballers.
