Upwey Tecoma’s fast bowler Cameron Wheeler is quickly gathering cricket accolades after he was awarded the Jack Feaver Medal for best player in the FTGDCA for season 2016/17.    The former

Mt Gate player who recently turned 21 won the award by a record ten votes, after polling in 10 out of 12 matches. Wheeler also won the bowling average for Reeves Shield with 42 wickets at 11.

Lysterfield and Australian Country X1 representative Nathan Walsh won his first Ron Lomax Medal defeating team mate Brad Paull and Johnson Park’s Ben Stallworthy by two votes. Walsh scored 500 runs for the season at a healthy average of 71 and declared that he would be returning to Premier Cricket at the age of 26.

Knox Garden’s all-rounder Niraj DeSilva won the R.J. Parish medal for the best U/21 player in the competition.
